Green Schools Sri Lanka
A sustainability initiative that equips schools with solar energy, climate education, and student-led eco-clubs.
Green Schools Sri Lanka is an environmental impact initiative aimed at creating energy-efficient, eco-conscious schools across the island. The project installs small-scale solar panels to offset electricity usage, introduces rainwater harvesting units, and conducts climate-education workshops for students. A core part of the initiative is establishing student-run Eco Clubs, where children lead recycling drives, tree-planting events, and monthly sustainability challenges. The project reduces carbon emissions, lowers school utility costs, and empowers the next generation to take active ownership of environmental protection.
